Revolution Live, Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Everyone in attendance at Revolution Live was taken on the roller coaster ride of their lives. For just one night, Peaches took over Fort Lauderdale and proved that she is still the superstar sex symbol that we all knew she was.
The night began with an energy filled set from the Brooklyn based group MEN. I have to admit, that when they first went on we were all a little unsure of what we were about to experience. Well, what we experienced was an art/performance group that seemed to put all of their focus into the live show. Their energy was contagious. The more lead vocalist JD Samson moved and danced around on stage, the more the crowd moved and danced. And even though their musical style was far off the beaten path, their lyrics of equality, sexual compromises, and war resounded with every single person watching.
When Peaches and her band, Sweet Machine, took the stage, the building was bursting at the seams. After getting the crowd going with “Mud”, Peaches wasted no time doing what she does best; encompassing sex and vulgarity and the raunchiness that everyone worships her for. She spent a good portion of the second song in between a balancing act on the barrier separating the crowd from stage and crowd surfing. Along with the abundance of crowd interaction (which is always a plus), were several costume changes and a (projected) duet with South Florida’s own Shunda K (on “Billionaire”).
For the entire set, Peaches and Sweet Machine gave the fans exactly what they came for. “I Feel Cream”, “Talk To Me”, “F**k The Pain Away”, “Mommy Complex”, “More”, and “Lovertits” were all part of the set list.
From the first chord to the last rip-roaring note, Peaches and Sweet Machine took the crowd for the ride of their lives, and everyone’s expectations were exceeded. Last Friday night, Peaches solidified her place in the land of sex, drugs, and rock and roll, and proved that she will forever be the dominatrix of electroclash (her genre of music) we all love so dearly.
